Maple Island has a constitutional monarchy government. Today the prime minister is Ericka Pohlson. She is in charge of the Island and actually has the power. Maple Island's constitutional monarchy is one in which it is combined with a representative democracy. The leaders follow the rules of the written constitution. The king or queen is decided by family and whoever is next in line. Today the throne still belongs to the Greenburg family. The king today is Arron Greenburg. The prime minister is decided by an election. The people also get to elect members of the parliament. These members represent the people.

The flag (left) is a symbol that the Maplerians deeply respect. Red, purple, and light blue are the island's official colors. The mountain like shapes at the bottom symbolize ups and downs. The downs being the two wars that they went through and the ups symbolizing that they will always get back up when things get tough. The arrow symbolizes that they are constantly moving forward. Lastly, the four star-like shapes represent the four regions of the country.
